St. John's: Facilities

Welcoming the Community
Completed in 2005, St. John's new addition was built to house the mission of the parish, including welcoming the community.

Hospitality
St. John's handles catering in-house for events. Our hospitality volunteers can often provide food for your events, subject to menu and group size. We ask that outside food not be brought for several reasons, including that we seek to maintain a nut-safe environment. A full commercial kitchen adjoins the Great Hall. Our kitchen facilities are well maintained, regularly inspected and all food is prepared on site.

Using our Facilities
St. John’s is pleased to make our facilities available to our community, whether members of the parish or not. Subject to availability, arrangements may be made for partial or full day events. Our modern facilties that support a large variety of uses, including family celebrations, funeral and other receptions, meetings, seminars, community conferences, and more.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accomodate wedding receptions.
We do not host "Stag and Doe" events, nor any event whose central focus might be alcohol.

Plenty of free parking is available on the property.

The church and halls are wheel chair accessible.

The Great Hall
...has a capacity of 200 Seated at tables, 250 Seated “theatre style” or 275 without seating. It is carpeted, but has excellent acoustics for live performances.

Small Meeting Rooms
Three classrooms, a board room, and a parlour can be set up for 10 to 20 people, with chairs only or with an arrangement of tables. The Gathering Space can accomodate up to 35. A variety of visual aids are also available.

The Old Parish Hall
The Parish Hall is a separate building, located behind below the cemetery on Halson Street. This 1950's building can accomodate the same numbers as the Great Hall. There is plenty of parkinig. While the building is not air conditioned, it includes a kitchen as well as a stage, and can handle a small wedding reception with external catering.

The Church Sanctuary
Is never booked or hired. It is often, however, made available for personal prayer. For more on our worship, click here.
